ARB Deluxe Bull Bar

Obviously the original bumper needs to come off. The front cladding in the wheel wells must be removed to get to the fog lights and the mounting bolts. The 'skidplate'-like cover below the bumper has to be taken off as well.
They unplugged the fog lights and took off the (8) mounting bolts.
They pulled off the bumper and put it aside. The fog lights were delt with later.
They put the fog light and horn cables in the frame cross member so they were out of the way.
The bumper mounting bracket on the passenger side got a notch cut out because a winch was being installed. This was also shown in the ARB instructions. They sprayed on a primer and painted it black to make it look nice. This area can be seen when the install is done.

The ARB bumper has a hoop which doesn't conform with German road regulations. All corners have to be round - no sharp edges and anything sticking over the actual bumper is not allowed.

The hoop was cut off close to the bumper.
The rest of the hoop tubes was ground down to make it flush with the upper side of the bumper. This was sprayed with primer and paint to prevent rust.
They put in the turn signals and removed the fog lights from the original bumper and attached them to the bracket which came with the ARB bar. The plastic buffers were added as well.
Then they test fitted the Bull Bar.
The over-stand of the frame cross member was really tight. The Bull Bar can be installed with them in place but we decided to cut them off (and sprayed them with primer and paint).
Then the ARB Bar was ready for final installment. They made sure the bumper was level and tightened all (8) mounting bolts. The fog lights were plugged in but we left the integrated turn signals unplugged. Then they fitted the wing braces that go on the back side of the bumper inside the wheel well.
Next the winch was added. First they mounted the license plate assembly which fits over the roller fairlead and can be tilted upwards. Then the fairlead was bolted on...
...and then the winch set in place and attached.
They mounted the control box bracket provided by ARB which sits in the center of the Bull Bar and is a nice location for the solinoid.

The winch cables were pulled up between air box and fuse box...

...and attached to the battery.
They adjusted the license plate frame to accomodate the bracket and added the license plate.
To finish off the bumper two rubber plugs were adjusted to fit and cover the holes of the cut-off hoop - similar to other ARB bars that come without the hoop.
When getting the technical inspection they required me to fix-mount the license plate to the bumper. A tiltable plate was not conform with the code.
