Transfer Case/Transmission
They wanted to know whether or not the skidplate which was designed for a V6-engine JK with automatik transmission would fit on a Diesel 5-speed. They mounted the brackets and we held the plate in place. It would fit but needed minor adjustments.
The holes for the cross member spacer were too far in the front and the provided cross member bar would sit too farup front as well and would not fit. So the angle had to be cut (white line is original outline).
The holes for the cross member spacer had to be redrilled too. They opted for bigger holes for adjustment and used oversized washers.
Then the skidplate could be installed. Since the skidplate was hanging too low anyway we only used the cross member spacer without the additional 3/4" thick cross member plate. We couldn't figure out its use anyhow.
As shown clearly here, the plate hangs way too low, stealing about two inches of valuable clearance. The plate should be mounted without spacer directly on the transmission cross member and should have a bent to provide space for the exhaust pipe. This way it could be tucked nicely under the truck.

Three brackets were mounted to the underside of the vehicle. Those would hold the skidplate in front of the muffler.
Along the rear bumper there are three slotted tabs. The two outer ones will slide underneath the bumper mounting bolts. The third will be attached with an additional bolt in an existing hole in the bumper cross bar.
As apparent here the skidplate hangs too low (about two inches below the muffler). We thought about drilling extra holes in the brackets in front of the muffler to set it higher, but this didn't work. The skidplate is fairly close to the muffler near the bumper and would conflict with it.
