ARB Safari Snorkel

Following the instructions the installation of the snorkel requires the air filter box to be removed.

We used some tape to stick the template (included in the package) to the fender. The template lines up with the top edge of the fender. the instructions recommend to orientate the template to the turn signal...
Don't get confused: In the United States Cherokees never came with washer bottles between inner and outer fenders, nor did they come with turn signals above the fender flares!

While Damian marked and drilled the holes, I attached the metal 'knee' to the air intake box with the provided rivets. I also used silicone to make sure no water can enter the air box. We removed the inner rubber fender. After trying the position of the snorkel we had to adjust one of the holes slightly. At this time we also marked the holes on the A-column.

Then we drilled the 13 mm hole in the horizontal part of the inner fender (just behind the head light). The two big holes were sprayed with primar while the small holes were made 'rust prove' by using silicone. Now the snorkel could be bolted on and the air box could be reinstalled.

Now the soft part of the snorkel was positioned and clambed to the air box and snorkel. The inner rubber fender was put back in place and the snorkel head was mounted.
Now the engine should be able to breath better.
